TAD NEWTON'S JAZZ FRIENDS

 We welcome Tad Newton and his Jazzfriends back to the Central Hall with music from "Basin Street to Harlem". 2018 is the bands 35th Anniversary of its formation and are established as one of the most respected and entertaining jazz/swing bands in the UK gaining plaudits wherever they perform with their lively and adventurous repertoire. Top quality musicians playing the great swinging jazz sounds of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman et al..with panache and humour!

Whilst concentrating on the jazz sounds of the 20's, 30's, 40's, and 50's, the Jazz Friends do not resign themselves to re-runs of 'golden oldies' and can combine their traditional repertoire with more contemporary material.

The band features within its show, a flexibility of approach enabling it to spotlight delightful interludes of vocals, novelties, rhythm and blues, as well as fine solos by its respected and noted individual musicians.
