Our final concert of the season has a programme of African music starting  with Alexander L'Estrange's Zimbe which is Swahili for "Sing them". L'Estrange describes the music as creating a "wonderfully simple, joyous realm where music imitates life and life inspires music". We feel this is a very fitting choice for this, the last concert for Grimsby "Phil" with Sue as our regular conductor. A number of years ago she went to Africa and worked in Soweto and Johannesburg with the Gautama province and the Protoris University on music curriculum matters. We welcome back Barry Whitfield and his trio, Lisa Oliver and Sally Russell who provide drumming and percussion accompaniment and a variety of young singers from Grimsby and surrounding area. We do hope you will come and join us in this wonderful climax of our 168th season.
